Hi Mark, great to hear from you, and that’s an interesting one.

I was recently listening to one of the ‘scienceofultra’ podcasts, they are an excellent resource (https://www.scienceofultra.com/podcasts), for both training and theory. On one of the episodes a runner/coach was talking about training all/most of the time at an incredibly low intensity — slowing down to walking when going above that set level. That could be one to try. I’m listening through the episodes to identify which one, as could be worth a listen.
