Excellent, response, really enjoyed reading it — though I’m slow to get back. And yes, I totally get it. I often cycle a fixed-gear bike through the city, and know that ‘being in the zone’ is the only option. Similarly, trail/fell running, down loose mountain sides, involves both full commitment and concentration. It feels very close, if not the same, as ‘flow’ (see https://elemental.medium.com/entering-flow-can-make-hard-exercise-more-enjoyable-21b221d1a8d3). Cheers
